Class Expectations

ü  Students will be punctual and well prepared for each class. This includes having all necessary materials, including: homework assignments, math textbook, math workbook, math notebook, paper, and pencils. 

  ü Students will maintain a Math Notebook to develop note-taking and study skills necessary for higher level courses.  The math notebook will be well organized and include daily practice problems, class notes, assignments, journal entries, and pertinent vocabulary terms.  Notebooks will be checked on a quarterly basis.  

 

 ü Students will demonstrate a positive class attitude.  This will include participation in class discussion and activities, completion of class assignments or projects, presentation of technology projects and daily completion of home learning assignments.    

 

ü  Students will monitor their class progress.  Students will be given opportunities to see their graded tests and class assignments, and may request their class file folder at any time.  Students are expected to ask questions regarding their work and their progress in order to monitor their own improvement and growth. Students are encouraged to ask the teacher for help in understanding any skill/concept they are having difficulty mastering.

Grading System

Miami-Dade County Public Schools Grading Scale:

100% - 90%........................A (4.0 - 3.50)

89% - 80% .........................B (3.49 - 2.50)

79% - 70% .........................C (2.49 - 1.50)

69% - 60% .........................D (1.49 - 1.00)

59% - 0% ...........................F (0.99 - 0.00)

 

Class Tests will count as two grades.

Quizzes, homework and classwork will count as one grade, unless otherwise stated.

At least two grades will be posted each week.  Please check the parent viewer to monitor grades regularly.
