Pope's Visit

The Holy Father's visit April 15-20 provides a unique opportunity for children to learn more about him and the papacy. There are links for free teaching ideas and reproducible activities you can use with students in primary and intermediate grades.

Another website - http://www.uspapalvisit.org/    This website is from the "United States Conference of Catholic Bishops" and will feature streaming video of the events while the Pope is in the U.S.  It's also sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington and New York.  There are teaching resources here, also.

Tools for Teachers

United Streaming - a large online multimedia library of educational videos and images.  It is appropriate for every age and learning level, correlated to state standards, and searchable by keyword, subject, topic, grade and curriculum standard.                                             Go to http://www.unitedstreaming.com  Our school subscribes through NWOCA.  See Mrs. Jones for the Lial passcode and you can set up your own account.

NWOCA - The A-site that provides our Internet access.  The web address is http://home.nwoca.org    Teacher school email accounts are available through Mrs. Jones.  NWOCA also has several classes for professional development.

NWOET - The ed tech.agency we belong to that is located at BGSU.  The web address is http://nwoet.org    There are several professional development classes as well as an entire media library.  The postage is paid to receive and return the videos.  A print catalogue is in the staff lounge but the entire listing is online.  See Mrs. Jones if you want help ordering.

INFOHIO - The source for educational resources sponsored by the State of Ohio.  There are links for students and educators that are reliable and safe.  This site is highly recommended and reliable and the resources are free.  http://www.infohio.org   To use it from home, you need a username and password.
