Tansian University Awards Scholarships to 5,000 Commercial S*X Workers

Tansian University, Anambra State, in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioners, U.K  (CIEPUK), has awarded full scholarships to 5,000 repentant commercial sex workers and vulnerable people.

This was disclosed by Prof. Marcel Ezenwoye, the National President of CIEPUK, in Abuja on Tuesday, January 4.

According to Ezenwoye, the beneficiaries were selected from the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and will undergo three months of intensive training in various crafts and skills before being equipped with relevant resources in either of the two centers for the northern and southern parts of the country in batches beginning February 26, 2022.

Ezenwoye went on to say that the beneficiaries will receive free tuition, hostel accommodation, medical coverage, insurance, and security, while their state governments will cover the cost of food for the three-month training program.

The three-month entrepreneurship and skill program includes instruction in shoemaking, soap making, cream making, scriptwriting, video editing, agricultural business, and farm management.

Acting, internet and social media studies, cinematography, furniture making, electrical works, cottage industry, tie & dye, laundry, spice production, barbing, and event management are some of the other options.
